Machine Embroidery

Although I like to divide my work into categories and this is the "machine embroidery" section, the definition is not always that clear-cut.   So, below are my various creations, all of which contain some form of machine embroidery, although some also start up being a painting on mulberry silk paper.

The series with the name "Palm, or Palme" was based on a vase I saw in a magazine, which I thought was by a well-known German company called Rosenthal, and the pattern was "Palme d'Or".   However, I subsequently checked up on this and  did not find a definite answer.  Never mind, I very much like the work that resulted from this magazine page.

"Darmera Leaves", which I omitted to photograph before it was framed, was based on a lovely plant my partner let me dig up from his garden:  lovely gold/russet-leaved clumps of foliage.  At the time I didn't know its name - I just happened to come across it later.

I have also included here "Directions", which is both hand- and machine embroidered, but on silk fabric rather than paper.
